Pricing and Procedures to Commission Photography:

The images Steve creates are copyrighted intellectual property and are licensed to our clients in a similar manner that music, written materials or software is licensed. Rather than buying the tangible piece of film or a print, our clients purchase the photographer's technical and artistic ability to create photographs that meet their needs along with a license to use those photographs within a specified context.

Several factors are considered in the fees: the number of photographs you wish to use, the type(s) of media, the period of use, reproduction sizes, the region of use, and exclusivity.

We retain the copyright to all pictures Steve produces for an assignment and require their return in a timely manner. We grant the client the reproduction rights that have been contracted for. We are glad to grant additional use of the photographs beyond the original agreement. This of course requires an additional negotiated usage fee.
